Listen Up, People!
Oh, Hi! How are you?! I didn’t see you there! Well, here we are, only three days left in the WFMU 2012 Marathon! A week and a half ago, I couldn’t believe it was already marathon time again, now I can’t believe it’s coming to an end so soon. Hasn’t it been fun so far? Prizes and shout-outs and stunts, oh my!
I know you know this or have heard it from everyone in your Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr feeds, but WFMU is truly one of a kind. In a world of reality TV and gross TMZ garbage or what have you, it’s a shining star of creativity and unique… ness? It’s a mystery wrapped inside an enigma. It’s a mixed-up metaphor sandwich in a cookie-cutter world… whatever, you know what I mean.
There are so many incredibly awesome shows that WFMU has brought forth into the world, past and present. If you’re new to WFMU, or just want to hear more, they have this incredible archive available for all of your on-demand entertainment needs & wants. I couldn’t even tell you how far back the archive goes but I can tell you I’ve listened to things that aired ten years ago or more and that it’s brought me many hours of listening pleasure.
However, if I may, I’d like to bring to your attention a brand new show, IMAGINARY RADIO w/ Chris M. I do believe it is the only weekly show that debuted on the current schedule (with the possible exception of the Jim Price show, which is also delightful and I urge you to check it out … Seriously, it’ll take you like less than 15 minutes.) The IMAGINARY RADIO program features a very diverse musical selection, which is probably my favorite thing about the show. Plus it’s got a good beat and I can dance to it. And although this show only started in December, Chris M. has already featured some live guests, which you can hear on the archive, with more in store!
Of course, as an added pledging incentive, you can select the IMAGINARY RADIO premium with pledge of $75 or more. It’s a data DVD of hours and hours of carefully crafted mixtapes from your host, Chris M. WFMU recently previewed a sampler on their marathon tumblr.
IMAGINARY RADIO is broadcast Saturday night (ok, fine Sunday morning) 3am – 6am on air at 91.1 or on the livestream . If your schedule does not permit you to listen live to IMAGINARY RADIO, you can always catch up on the archive . This Saturday night/Sunday morning will be the last chance for IMAGINARY RADIO to contribute to the WFMU 2012 Marathon. Please consider pledging in support of this brand new, exciting show here:
If you CAN stay up that late, you can also call in your pledge at 800-989-9368. I’ll be on phones, so I’ll talk to you then!
Thanks so much for listening/ reading/ pledging/ ruling!!
